Asalamualaikum,
Allow an introduction. Some of you may have visited our blog Insightstoanislamiclife where we post on all subjects of deeper Islamic perspectives including analysing the practical aspects of the Nahjul Balagha. I have been helping in the creation of material and presenting material for several satelite TV stations as well as the Call of Islam radio here in The Holy City of Qom.
Through my experience I have found that we can always use more stories of the lives of people in our community. This includes converts, brothers and sisters in afflicted countries or just moments in our lives that you feel others may benefit from.
I am currectly in a project where we are presenting the stories of Muslims who have found their critical journey and entered within the folds of Islam.
This led me to thinking about our community and with the presence of wonderful tools at our fingertips, we should be able to share our views and stories on a platform. We have excellent chat platforms out there but I wanted to contribute in my own way to creating a mode for harnessing these stories and sharing them. This means that whether we reverted or converted to Islam, or was born into the faith we have all had times in our life that we feel if we shared them they may benefit at least one other person and we also have eager writers or people who love to share these stories with others.
So, on this site I am not only inviting those stories but also sincerely requesting that we all work together to build a more connected global, socially aware of individual experiences and struggles and build a greatly supportive community. If you are not comfortable with displaying your name thats fine you may stay annonymous but please do share.
The spreading of our states of conciousness is heightened when we put our thoughts, learning and expereinces in a pool and this will bring us infinitely closer to reaching our Imam of the age. After all, do we really want to chance that he will not be reappearing in our own generation. Reaching our Imam requires daily consious thought and action. Please help us in this project.
If you send your stories in comments or emails then I will display them and also the convert stories will Inshallah be aired on COI radio here in Qom. Whether it is your conversion that you want to share or you just want to introduce yourself to the community its upto you.
Perhaps you have an angle of Islam that you want to share. Please do, they are all very relevant and I personally love to read about my brothers and sisters in Islam. It gives me hope and raises the consciousness of the greater, global Islam.
If you are in one of the many afflicted countries such as Lebanon, Syria, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq, Malaysia (regarding treatment of shias) and the list goes on. Please, please share your personal stories of what has happened to you, your family or your friends or what you have seen and also your perpectives. Let's not the lives of those who are being given be in vain or go unnoticed like a statistic. We love our brothers and sisters and perhaps we can show it more.
Perhaps we can also support our new reverts/converts to the faith right here, often they are quite alienated, and converts (whether from another path of Islam or from another religion), please if you are in this sittuation, feel free to let us know, when we know, we can support you all more. My mother herself was a convert herself as are soo many of my close, close friends in Canada, England, Iran, America, Kuwait.
We would also love to hear about small shia or Islamic struggling communities, please send us pictures of your community centers and those of you at the forefront of the struggle and what you must face day to day.
Although this site is focused on the struggles of the Shia, we would like to emphasize here and this is very important we as shias have duty and privilege to help in any sittuation to help around the world in any way we can where muslims have been suffering or down trodden. So this site is for everyone who is Muslim and we include all muslims into our brotherhood because we face a much greater opposition than to be disunited especially at a time like this.
We welcome all Palestinian, Syrian, Afghanistan etc. stories because we are one greater Ummah.
Feel free to send in pictures all pictures and I will post them.
I know that many of us would like to be more aware of the experiences of other Muslims.
