Islam: Happiness post

Salams
We are still in the month of Muharam, so I wanted to make sure that no body misinterpreted my happiness posting.  I meant no disrespect to the months of mourning.  However, as we can see from the sayings of our first Imam (as), happiness or felicity in Islam has a very different meaning to what we usually understand by the meaning.

In fact what we seem to understand from happiness is an illusion.  Only in staying connected to the message of Imam Hussain (as) can happiness be achieved.  It is not the superficial happiness of the world but in living our soul's mission.  It's amazing how we constantly try to escape from happiness in the search of it just because we have not understood our own reality.

Since fear is from Shaitan and Imam Ali (as) has told us that when we feel fear we should do what we fear then it is freedom that allows us to experience happiness.

Imam Hassan's son, hazrat Qasim (as) said when asked on the plains of Karbala what he thought of death that:

"Death is sweeter to me than honey"

Then it is by constantly facing our death (keeping death in our clearn vision) is the only way to be free and the only way to achieve happiness.  But we fear death and so we do not get to experience true happiness and yet we live in search of it.

Once we submit, we enter a new realm, as Allah refers to it in the Holy Quran "The goodly life" where everything we do is measured in different terms than any level we have entered level before, and we are given the best (our deeds are rewarded based on the best of those deeds that we have done before - why? because it is our heart that Allah is after and this is where we give up our own will, connect our heart to Allah so that Allah becomes our will and we become the testimony of His existence.
