Convert Stories - We NEEEEED them. Please help us.
Salams sisters (and brothers too).
I am writing this post with a plea to all sisters who have come from outside of Islam to the folds of Islam. You all have wonderful and unique stories that we really love to hear and learn from. Please do not hold back your stories because you think you can not write, because you think no one is interested (the odds are against that logic anyway), or because you do not have time (we know you are all busy with lives).
I personally love the hadith regarding the army of the Imam (mahhr) which says:
"Come well equipped or come ill equipped but come"
If it was not for remembering this hadith which lies quietly as a reminding whisper in my mind (you know, the kind that replaces the whispers of shaitan and which fill an evil void) I preobably would never have gotten involved with most worthwhile causes that it gave me the courage to embark on in humility leaving the result in the hands of better judges than I. Imam (mahhr) is only eagerly waiting for any acts (especially those that we feel we are not good enough for but attempt anyway) and wants to add them to our list so that he can start to put us in todays list for helping his reappearance...How lucky are we???
It's not your skills as a writer or your ability with words but your rich, powerful, courageous and inspiring experiences that we all want to share in and above all your willingness to put all our insecurities (we all have them) aside and just join the cause.
We had a program prior to this one which I was not but minimally involved in and it was indeed a great success. We had great feed back and listeners wanted more. So the producers and the big guys here at the station decided to create another one.
Whether you have become a Muslim or specifically a lover of the Ahle bait. we need your stories.
So please don't hold back. We need them as soon as um....yesturday? Oh thats right yesturdays gone and tomorrow is uncertain so today. Please would you mind get writing for Allah's sake?
We really are enthusiastically waiting and I personally looove your stories and you know what....chances are most people will too. We can post them anonymously or with your name on here after they have been aired on COIradio.com 'The Journey'
