Liberating the heart- Imam Zaynul Abideen (as) (4th Imam)

Oh Allah, let me see the object as it is with you

This line is from our fouth Imam.  Quite interestingly we know from the chakra systen that is taught from the system of Ayurveda (the ancient East Indian system of holistic healing) that the fourth chakra represents the heart chakra (energy center of the heart), Imam As-Sajjad (the devotee of Allah (swt) taught how to communicate with Allah on the heart level, i.e. how to fill the heart with pure love os Allah (swt)  and thereby recieve inner peace.

This hadith tells us that in order for us to find inner contentment and peace we can learn to give our heart to the will of Allah so that we learn to pull our desires up from the 3rd chakra (center of will power and action) into the fourth chakra (love) so that we can begin to view things with the eyes of Allah (swt) instead of our own deficient eyes or will.  In doing so we can begin to submit ourselves to His will and find an inner calm in the state of hardship or success (where we may mistakingly attribute to ourselves the good that comes our way instead of recognizing that Allah good is from Allah.

Incidentally, it may also be useful for us to remember that where a void of Allah (swt) exists in our energy centers, Shaitan (the acursed one) will step in at that very level to try to pull us over to his side and create chaos in our emotions (in this case).  Once he has done that he can manipulate our minds where we begin to justify our negative behaviors.  When the heart's resolve is weakened the central system of our being (fourth out of 7 chakras) is tempered with and we begin to lose sight of the truth.  This is where we fall into trouble.

In the heart is also where deceit and hypocrisy live.  If we block shaitan out at this level by saturating our heart with love of Allah (swt) and understanding of His will and whatever pleases Him we can maintain a state of certainty rather than linger in a state of vulnerability and doubt at which point we open the way for the higher chakras to reveal themselves to us in truth.

When I decided to post this morning, I was intending to post on a hadith about the Holy Quran.  As I walked over to my bookshelf looking for my copy of 'A bundle of flowers' to find that hadtih, suddenly I was inspired with this hadith instead.  So I decided to take a look and see what would come up.  I will save the other hadith with the exact quote for a later post.

Just a few thoughts to start the day.
